<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for joining expansion devices, which allows the water cut-off performance at the junction of the expansion devices to be improved for prevention of water leakage from the junction, and enables neighboring expansion devices to be easily joined at field work; and an expansion device. <P>SOLUTION: A method includes the steps of: manufacturing an expansion device 1 by arranging a backup member 6 between two plates 2 and filling the backup member 6 from above with a reaction-curable elastomer for forming a water cut-off member; molding a connection member 4 by filling a plate-like formwork with the reaction-curable elastomer; attaching the connection member 4 to the end face of the expansion device 1 in the width direction y of a road bridge so as to cover at least a part of the water cut-off member 3; and joining and fixing to another expansion device such that the connection member 4 of the expansion device 1 is held therebetween. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
