<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery containing a lithium-rich transition metal complex oxide, and having a small BET specific surface area and a large discharge capacity, and a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprising the same. <P>SOLUTION: The active material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery contains a lithium transition metal complex oxide having a hexagonal structure, the lithium transition metal complex oxide contains a transition metal element Me including Co, Ni, and Mn, Li, and an element X, where X represents one or more kinds of elements selected from the group consisting of F, Cl, P, and S, the molar ratio Li/Me of Li to the transition metal element Me is in the range of 1.25 to 1.40, the molar ratio Co/Me of Co in the transition metal element Me is in the range of 0.02 to 0.23, the molar ratio Mn/Me of Mn in the transition metal element Me is in the range of 0.63 to 0.72, and the molar ratio X/Li of the element X to Li is in the range of 0.01 to 0.1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
