<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite oxide having a perovskite-type crystal structure, to provide a method for producing the same, and to provide a highly active photocatalyst composed of the composite oxide. <P>SOLUTION: The composite oxide having a perovskite-type crystal structure includes, as constitutive components, an alkali metal (M1) and a group 5 element (M5) of the periodic table, and is obtained by firing, and the crystallite diameter of the oxide is within the range of 10-35 nm. The composite oxide is obtained by subjecting a mixture including: an alkali metal compound (A) containing the alkali metal (M1) as a constitutive component; and a metal compound (B) containing the group 5 element (M5) of the periodic table as a constitutive component, to a hydrothermal treatment to form a crystalline precipitate having no perovskite structure, and thereafter, subjecting the precipitate to a firing treatment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
