1,077,701. Core constructions. K. DIEHL. Oct. 1, 1965 [Oct. 15, 1964], No. 41669/65. Heading H2A. A permanent magnet rotor is constructed of two identical parts joined together on a joint extending transversely of the rotor wherein the direction of preferred magnetic orientation is substantially perpendicular to the joint and the rotor is magnetized to have at least four poles. The rotor parts are separately pressed from powdered material, the direction of preferred magnetization corresponding to the direction of pressing, and are magnetized accordingly and cemented together with like poles in contact. In a modification a sheet of permeable magnetic material is inserted between the rotor parts. Various different shapes of the parts are disclosed and it is stated that this construction of rotor is especially suitable for small synchronous motors.
