<p>The method involves coupling an inertia element (16) to a belt reel (12) using a spring system with a spring element (18). The characteristic of the spring system is adjusted for rotation of the inertia element relative to the belt reel after the coupling. The spring curve is adjusted by changing the effective length of the spring element. A shaft is hung at end (26) of the spring element, whose cross-section is changed by an axial movement.
