The drive includes a feed gear (7) for producing drive movements (8), where the feed gear is provided downstream to a drive motor (6). The flap is adjusted by the drive arrangement in motor-driven manner in an initial-adjustable section of an opening process, and manually or in a spring-driven manner without the help of the motor for a remaining process. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a flap arrangement. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for operating a flap arrangement (claimed) i.e. rear flap arrangement, of a motor car. Can also be used for a boot lid, bonnet, side door, and loading compartment floor. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The flap is adjusted by the drive arrangement in motor-driven manner in the initial-adjustable section of the opening process, and manually or in the spring-driven manner without the help of the motor for the remaining process, thus simplifying the automatic opening process performed against gravitational force, and increasing use comfort with minimum cost. The method enables production of a high drive force using a compact and robust drive, and allows the flap arrangement to require only a small drive stroke. The method increases robustness for the flap arrangement in case of collision during the initial-adjustable section of the opening process or during manual maloperation.
