摘要 <p>The invention relates to a method for performing at least one mechanical operation on a structure (10) comprising at least one first layer (12) stacked on top of at least one second layer (14), said first layer being formed by at least one material having a Young's modulus greater than or equal to approximately 50 GPa and greater than that of at least one material forming the second layer. The method comprises at least the following steps in which: the first layer is thinned in at least one area (20) of the structure that is intended to receive a bearing force as the mechanical operation is being performed; and the mechanical operation is performed, comprising the application of a localised bearing force on at least one part of the aforementioned area of the structure. Thus, damage to the first layer can be prevented since, in the thinned area, the structure can withstand significant bending without said first layer being damaged, for example for a mechanical operation of the type in which a bearing force is applied to the structure.</p>
