<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently secure a relative movement range of a recording head in mounting the recording head without reducing a head protection effect by a head cover. <P>SOLUTION: The head cover 12, which includes a sub-scanning direction cover part 12B located in both sides of a sub-scanning direction on a nozzle surface 21 of the recording head 20 mounted on a carriage 10, is configured to protrude from the nozzle surface.
