<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording device which can shorten an image recording time, and can highly hold the position accuracy of an image recording range irrespective of the presence and absence of the movement of a tray. <P>SOLUTION: When it is determined that a count value of a counter 101 is smaller than a first threshold which is stored in a memory 103 (S1, Y), a control part performs operation for detecting an end position of a sheet (S2). The control part stores the detected end position of the sheet in a first memory region 104. The control part decides a printing start position by using the end position of the sheet (S4), moves a carriage to the decided printing start position (S5), and performs an image recording operation (S6). When it is determined that the count value of the counter 101 is not smaller than the first threshold (S1, N), the control part decides the printing start position by using the end position of the sheet which is detected previously (S8).
