Disclosed is a method for detecting Abeta-specific antibodies in a biological sample comprising the following steps: -contacting the sample with Abeta-aggregates or with particles comprising Abeta-aggregate like surfaces and allowing the Abeta- specific antibodies to bind to the Abeta-aggregates, and -detecting the Abeta-specific antibodies bound to the Abeta-aggregates by a single particle detection technique, preferably by fluorescence activated cell sorting FACS.
