A system (10) for dispensing a viscous material (50) includes a motion system (20) for controlling movement of a dispensing tip (16) within a dispensing region and delivering a viscous material (50) at a controlled flow rate (22) in coordination with the movement of the dispensing tip (16) to deliver a predetermined amount of the viscous material (50) to predetermined positions within the dispensing region. A method of using the system (10) includes controlling the movement of the dispensing tip (16) and the flow rate (22) of the viscous material (50).
