The holder (10) has a permanent magnet (20) and a holding portion for holding the data carrier in the wall region of a through hole. The permanent magnet is arranged in a stud hole of a base body (12). The permanent magnet is connected with front sides (12a,12b) of the base body. The permanent magnet has a rubberized surface on its front side and consists of neodymium, samarium, or an alloy of neodymium or samarium. The holding portion is formed by a groove (16).
