<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas appliance which can easily change setting whether or not a guide should be issued by a voice without installing a new switch or the like. <P>SOLUTION: When a specific operation is performed by a water boiler 1 (S21: YES), a setting code stored in an EEPROM is read (S22). When the specific operation is not performed (S21: NO), voice mode switching processing is not performed. When the setting code is read by the processing of S22, it is determined whether or not there arises a voice-guided mode (S23). When the read setting code is in the voice-guided mode (S23: YES), a voice non-guided mode is stored in the EEPROM (S24).
