<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fail-safe device having a fail-safe function such as prevention of damage of a base isolation device, even when an earthquake occurs that exceeds a range or limitations of an amplitude stroke for earthquakes that can be accommodated. <P>SOLUTION: A fail-safe device includes one locking member 22 fixed to a ground 1 side, another locking member 31 disposed on a horizontal member 3 on a structure 2 side, a linear object 55 locked to both of the one locking member 22 and the another locking member 31, a moving shaft for fixing the another locking member 31 to the horizontal member 3, a stopper 38 fixed to an upper end of the moving shaft to regulate downward movement of the moving shaft beyond a predetermined length, and shock absorbing materials 46, ..., 50 disposed so to be sandwiched between the stopper 38 and the horizontal member 3, wherein if the linear object 55 is gradually tensed as the ground 1 side and the structure 2 side are displaced by earthquake motion, the displacement of a limit displacement or more between the ground 1 side and the structure 2 side by base isolation devices 4, 5 is regulated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
