<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a model image acquisition support apparatus, a model image acquisition support method and a model image acquisition support program, for quickly and easily acquiring an optimum model image, for an image processing apparatus performing matching of a measurement image obtained by imaging a subject on the basis of a preset model image. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of model image candidates to be candidates of a model image are extracted from reference images obtained by imaging a subject which can be a model. Matching processing on the basis of the plurality of extracted model images is executed for a measurement image actually acquired by a visual sensor to obtain respective trial results. By evaluating each trial results of the matching processing on the basis of each of the model images, evaluation results are generated.
