摘要 <p>The present invention provides a spherical carbon material which is composed of isotropic particles and suffers little shape change even when has undergone carbonization or graphitization and which ensures excellent crystal growth. The present invention pertains to: a green-coke spherical carbon material which exhibits an average of plan-wise and elevation-wise conglobation ratios of particles of 60% or more as observed in scanning electron microscopy and which, when has undergone heating at 1200°C for 5 hours and heating at 2800°C for 3 hours, exhibits a shape retention of 70% or more; a process for manufacturing the green-coke spherical carbon material by applying a compression shear stress to a green-coke powder that contains at least 5% of particles having particle diameters which are equal to or below one-third of the mean particle diameter (D50) to granulate and conglobate the green-coke powder in a dry manner; a carbonaceous spherical carbon material obtained by carbonizing the green-coke spherical carbon material, and a manufacturing process therefor; and a graphitic spherical carbon material obtained by graphitizing the green-coke spherical carbon material, and a manufacturing process therefor.</p>
