The method involves cutting the web of pressure sensitive adhesive material (162) in longitudinal direction during rolling process so that several strips (164) are generated. The strips which are spaced apart from each other are connected with a sheet of gas-permeable diffusion material (156,156') to form the flow webs and flow channels of flow layers. The generated strips are stacked on the humidifier stack which is laminated with the water-permeable membrane. An independent claim is included for humidifier.
