The passenger number forecasting method involves receiving a stopping point from a user and an actual position of the public transportation over the wireless network by the passenger number polling telecontinuous system. The journey time of the public transportation from the actual position upto the stopping point is determined by the passenger number polling telecontinuous system. The number of passengers waiting at the stopping point is calculated by using the journey time and a statistic of the passenger arriving per unit time at the stopping point. An independent claim is included for a passenger number polling telecontinuous system with an input module.
