<p>Provided is a display device capable of producing a high-quality image when displaying the image using four color subpixels. The display device has a plurality of pixels each of which includes first to third subpixels respectively corresponding to each color of red (R), green (G) and blue (B), and a fourth subpixel exhibiting a higher brightness than the first to third subpixels. In each pixel, the first to fourth subpixels have light-emitting elements between a pair of substrates arranged opposite each other. The first to third subpixels have color filters provided on one substrate of the pair of substrates, which selectively transmit corresponding color light. The fourth subpixel is configured such that the transmittance of the light emitted from the light-emitting element is decreased in a part or the whole region of the fourth subpixel. The difference in transmittance between the first to third subpixels with color filters and the fourth subpixel with no color filer is decreased and brightness balance is improved, and thus a desired chromaticity is easily represented.</p> |
