PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display system, device, and method that are capable of displaying a stereoscopically-viewable three-dimensional image and a two-dimensional image depending on a situation.

SOLUTION: In an image display system, determination means determines whether an image to be displayed by a display device is an image for stereoscopic vision or an image for planar vision on the basis of information on an image. Switching control means performs control so as to switch the display device for stereoscopic vision or for planar vision depending on a result of determination by the determination means.
