<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction port unit of a vacuum cleaner which has a rotary brush driven by a motor and provides a structure reducing noise generated around the motor. <P>SOLUTION: The suction port unit 10 connected to a vacuum cleaner body 1 via a hose 6 and an extension pipe 9, includes a body housing 11 having a suction port 16 in its bottom, a connection pipe 12 disposed at the rear of the body housing 11 and communicating with the suction port 16, a rotary brush 17 disposed at the suction port 16, and a motor 18 for driving the rotary brush 17. The body housing 11 has a motor housing compartment 19 for housing the motor 18, and the top face of the body housing 11 is covered with a top face cover 13. Between the top face cover 13 and the body housing 11, an expansion compartment 23 is formed, which at least covers the top of the motor housing compartment 19 and communicates with the motor housing compartment 19.
