<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which is excellent in both display performance and moist heat resistance. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device comprises: a light source; a liquid crystal cell comprising a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal layer held between the pair of substrates; and a film containing a thermoplastic resin composition containing a lactone ring-containing polymer. The film is disposed in the liquid crystal cell on its side near the light source. The liquid crystal display device comprises the film containing the thermoplastic resin composition containing the lactone ring-containing polymer, in-plane retardation (Re) and thickness direction retardation (Rth) of the film are each 10 nm or less, and an optically anisotropic layer is provided on the film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
