<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow fiber carbon membrane that is easily manufactured, enables miniaturization of a device, and has superior performance of water separation and permeability; and to provide a separation membrane module employing the same and a method of manufacturing the hollow fiber carbon membrane. <P>SOLUTION: A hollow fiber carbon membrane includes a first hollow fiber carbon membrane, and a second carbon film arranged on an outer surface of the first carbon film, wherein the second carbon film is the hollow fiber carbon membrane containing a metallic element and a sulfur element.
