SEALING AGENT FOR OPTICAL SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE, AND OPTICAL SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing agent for optical semiconductor devices, which is excellent in storage stability and further has a high gas barrier property against a corrosive gas.

SOLUTION: The sealing agent for an optical semiconductor devices comprises a first organopolysiloxane represented by formula (1) and having an aryl group and an alkenyl group; a second organopolysiloxane represented by formula (51) and having an aryl group and a hydrogen atom bound to a silicon atom; and a catalyst for hydrosilylation reaction. The content ratios of the aryl groups in the first and second organopolysiloxanes are 30 mol% or more and 70 mol% or less, respectively. The content of a methyl monophenyl siloxane structural unit in 100 mol% of the total structural unit of the first organopolysiloxane is 20 mol% or more and 80 mol% or less.
