A fuel cell system comprises: a control valve for controlling the pressure of an anode gas to be supplied to a fuel cell; a buffer portion for storing the anode off gas discharged from the fuel cell; and a start-up time anode gas pressure control means for, when the fuel cell system is started up, controlling the pressure of the anode gas to be supplied to the fuel cell and pneumatically transferring an inert gas in the anode gas flow path of the fuel cell to the buffer portion. The start-up time anode gas pressure control means controls the pressure of the anode gas according to the difference between the temperature of the fuel cell and the temperature of the buffer portion. |
