<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide "multifunctional equipment consuming less standby power" which prevents multifunctional equipment from consuming large amount of standby power as a whole, by a simple method, when the standby power is supplied to a predetermined circuit to immediately start operations of the functions. <P>SOLUTION: When the multifunctional equipment is in use, used functions are stored on the basis of days of the week and time zones, as use frequency history, for each function. When power is turned OFF, a table that stores the functions in descending order of use frequency is prepared and stored for each of the days of the week and the time zones. When power-ON of the equipment is detected, only a predetermined number of functions having high priority are selected in the function use history table storing the functions with priority. These functions are set to a standby state, while the other functions are not set to the standby state. The function having the highest priority is preferentially executed irrespective of a resume operation.
