A light source (11) which supplies excited light, an interlacing image capture device (12), a field memory (15) which stores an image which is outputted from the image capture device (12), and a difference operation apparatus (20) which generates a difference image configure a fluorescent light observation device (1A). The light source (11) supplies the excited light such that one of first and second field image acquisition periods with the image capture device (12) is a fluorescent light image acquisition period and the other thereof is a background image acquisition period. The difference operation apparatus (20) switches between applying a first mode which subtracts a background image in the memory (15) from the fluorescent light image which is the output of the image capture device (12) and a second mode which subtracts a background image which is the output of the image capture device (12) from a fluorescent image in the memory (15). Thus, with a configuration which acquires fluorescent observation images in time series of an object to be observed, it is possible to generate realtime images in which fluorescent light is extracted. |
