PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for displaying augmented reality content using geographic information are provided to determine the position of an augmented reality object using information about a bottom surface, thereby enhancing reality of the object. CONSTITUTION: A camera module(102) takes a picture. A position calculation module(104) calculates a geographic position of a captured image by using the geographic position and shooting direction of the camera module. An object extraction module(106) extracts an augmented reality object corresponding to the geographic position of the image. A bottom recognition module(108) recognizes the bottom surface of the image. A display module(110) displays the synthesis of the augmented reality object and the image.
