CHARGE CONTROLLER AND ELECTRIC CAR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge controller capable of preventing occurrence of trouble even if an improper power supply cable is used.

SOLUTION: A charge controller CHG can charge the on-vehicle battery BT1 of an electric car on the basis of a commercial power supply connected via feed lines CBL1, CBL2. The charge controller CHG includes first processing (ST3) for specifying the voltage value of commercial power supply fed from a feed line prior to start of charging operation of the on-vehicle battery, second processing (ST6) for specifying the voltage value of a commercial power supply fed from a feed line in a state where a current of proper level flows through the feed line, and third processing (ST10) for determining the propriety of the feed line on the basis of two voltage values thus specified and interrupting the current of the feed line if the feed line is inappropriate.
