<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor control apparatus in which clogging of a protector caused by an organic component such as soot contained in gas to be measured is removed and output abnormality of a detection element is prevented, and a gas sensor control method. <P>SOLUTION: A gas sensor control apparatus 100 comprises: a gas sensor element 200 which includes a detection element 10 provided with a pump cell 14 and a heater 70 heating the detection element; output value acquisition means 50 which is connected to a gas sensor including a gas protector which encloses a distal end part of the detection element and includes a ventilation hole, and acquires an output value of the pump cell; and heater electrification control means 50 which electrifies the heater to maintain the gas sensor element at a first temperature when a specific gas concentration in the gas to be measured is detected by the detection element. The gas sensor control apparatus 100 further comprises output value determination means 50 which determines whether the output value is lower than a heater switching threshold value. If it is determined that the output value is lower than the heater switching threshold value, the heater electrification control means electrifies the heater to maintain the gas sensor element at a second temperature which is higher than the first temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
