<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle power supply device with an electric double-layer capacitor, configured to prevent influence between the electric double-layer capacitor and a battery, and to prevent a load from malfunctioning due to a reduction in power voltage even if a rush current is generated. <P>SOLUTION: A vehicle power supply device includes a battery B to be charged with power generated in a generator 1, and supplies power discharged by the battery B and the power generated by the generator 1 to a plurality of loads 5, 17, 18. The vehicle power supply device includes: an electric double-layer capacitor C connected through a backflow prevention circuit D1 so as to charge the battery B; a switch S2 that connects/disconnects the electric double-layer capacitor C to/from the one or a plurality of loads 5, 17, 18; a voltage detection means 23 for detecting output voltage of the battery B; and a means 23 for determining whether the detected voltage is lower than a predetermined voltage.
