PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording material having a nano structure, spherical hard magnetic substances in high density, and a high recording density.

SOLUTION: A nano hetero-structure magnetic recording material has a three-dimensional periodic structure in which, in a matrix composed of insulating magnetic substances, spherical hard magnetic substances with 2.5-25 nm of average particle diameters are dispersed and arranged three-dimensionally and periodically, and the average length of one unit in the repeating structure is 1-100 nm.
