<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EGR gas cooling system that achieves a low temperature of a cooling water flowing into an EGR cooler by installing a low temperature cooling water circuit, and also enables a rapid increase in the temperature of the cooling water after the start-up of an engine by controlling the flow of the cooling water in the low temperature cooling water circuit. <P>SOLUTION: This EGR gas cooling system has: a main cooling water circuit 6 for circulating cooling water among an engine 3, a main radiator 7 for causing the cooling water of the engine 3 to radiate heat, and a primary EGR cooler 1 for cooling EGR gas using the cooling water; and a low-temperature cooling water circuit 9 for circulating the cooling water among the engine 3, a sub-radiator 10 provided integrally with or separately from the main radiator 7 and for causing the cooling water to radiate heat, and a secondary EGR cooler 2 for cooling the EGR gas using the cooling water.
