The vibration damper (202) has an attenuation portion (206) arranged between a primary retainer (104) and a secondary retainer (106). An attenuation lip portion (204) is arranged between an edge of primary retainer and secondary retainer to prevent direct contact between primary retainer edge and secondary retainer. The attenuation lip portion is connected with the attenuation portion. The attenuation lip portion is set thinner than spacing between the edge and secondary retainer, if the attenuation portion is arranged between primary retainer and secondary retainer. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a damping device; and (2) a fan.
