PURPOSE: A method for protecting and evaluating an abuse risk of smart phone personal information and a protecting method thereof are provided to prevent the leakage of personal information caused by a smart phone application by calculating an evaluation index of the abuse risk of smart phone personal information and periodically calculating a risk level of the smart phone application according to a location information utilization type of the application. CONSTITUTION: If a personal information protection application is executed, a level display application list is received from a server storing the level display application list in order to store the same in a memory(S310). The inclusion of the level display application list of an application newly installed after a last execution date of the personal information protection application is checked(S360). If the newly installed application is included in the level display application list, a set protective action including warning and deletion is performed(S390).
