Sending a multimedia message, comprising video and/or audio, from a first user to a second user, comprising: receiving a first multimedia message from a first user device at a streaming media server; storing the first message in a first portion of memory coupled to the server, in a folder associated with the first user; and, to send the message to another user, a copy of the first multimedia message is stored in a second portion of memory coupled to the server, different to the first portion, in a folder associated with the second user. In order for the second user to view the message the copy of the first message is streamed, using the streaming media server, to a second user device. Because both users have access to their own physical copies of the message both can view the message by streaming it to their respective user devices without degraded or slowed performance.
