1,086,073. Reflex cameras with roller blind shutters. PENTAGON DRESDEN KAMERA UND KINOWERKE VEB. Jan. 28, 1966, No. 3926/66. Heading G2A. A reflex camera with roller blind shutter is provided with mechanism to delay the shutter actuation until the objective diaphragm has closed to its preset value, and the mirror has pivoted to its picture taking position. The mechanism (shown cocked) comprises two segment levers 14, 16, the lever 14 of which is connected, via a slider 6 and pin and slot connection 11, 12 with a cocking wheel 1. The cocking operation causes the film to be wound on, mechanism for retarding the running down of the second blind to be cocked by means of an arm 9 of the slider 6, a lever 32 indicating the uncocked state of the camera to be pivoted out of the camera viewfinder, and a spring 7 to be tensioned. To effect an exposure, a release lever is operated so that its nose 10 liberates the slider 6 to move to the left (as shown) under action of the spring 7. This movement is effected evenly by means of the lever 14, the clockwise running off of which is retarded by gearing 18-21. The lever 14 carries with it, by means of pawl 15 and nose 30, the lever 16, the movement of which shifts a diaphragm plunger 24 against a compression spring 33 to set the diaphragm to its pre-selected value. Clockwise movement of the levers brings the mirror into the picture taking position by means of a pin and slot connection 28, 29, and also tensions a spring 27 and pivots the lever 32 back into the viewfinder. When the slider 6 reaches its rest position, the first blind and the mechanism retarding the second blind are liberated by the arm 9. A slider 17 lying in the running off path of the second blind, is shifted in the direction of the arrow after the exposure has been made, thereby moving the pawl 15 to allow the lever 16 to be pivoted anticlockwise by the spring 27, thereby returning the mirror to the observation position and the diaphragm to its fully open position.
