PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device which has a capsule having a high rigidity of coupling a body-attached bracket and a vehicle body, unfailingly ensuring a current-carrying path and facilitating attaching the body-attached bracket to the vehicle body. SOLUTION: A protrusion 27 is formed on the front side of the vehicle body nearer to the front side of the vehicle body than the end surface 242b of the front side of the vehicle body of a lower clamping plate 24b, and the upper surface 241b of the lower clamping plate 24b is not provided on the opposite side of the protrusion 27. With this configuration, when the protrusion 27 is inserted into the upper surface 211 of a flange portion 21a, even if a press-fitting margin (tightening margin) is large, the flange portion 21a can be bent downward and relieved as shown in Fig.5. Thus, the flange portion 21a can be assembled to a capsule 24 with a proper press-fit force, and a separating load can be prevented from being excessive when the flange portion 21a is separated from the capsule 24 to the front side of the vehicle body.
