The core has a core structure which comprises an oriented strand board wooden plate or multiple oriented strand board wooden plates (1) pressed and glued with each other. The construction of the oriented strand boards comprises elongated chips. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a scantling with a casing; and (2) a method for surrounding a core for manufacturing a scantling.
