Method for manufacturing a composite timepiece

The method involves producing a part defining a portion of a metal layer (44). Another part defining a silicon-based layer is produced. A composite part is assembled by positioning the two parts to ensure contact between the metal layer and the silicon layer, respectively, and by welding the parts together by applying pressure and/or temperature. The welding is performed by thermocompression or formation of an intermetallic alloy and creation of connection between the parts. The composite part is released by eliminating a substrate. An independent claim is also included for a timepiece.
