PURPOSE: A fire monitoring system for railway vehicles and a railway vehicle having the same are provided to quickly and efficiently handle fires in a railway vehicle and reduce costs for system development and maintenance. CONSTITUTION: A fire monitoring system comprises a fire detecting unit(10), a fire information receiving and displaying unit(20), and a train control device(30). The fire detecting unit comprises multiple unit sensors which have each unique identification number for detecting fires in a railway vehicle. The fire information receiving and displaying unit receives fire information including detected fire information along with the unique identification number of the unit sensors. The train control device records the fire information received from the fire information receiving and displaying unit in an internal memory and controls fire information output.
