The present invention ensures excellent optical characteristics corresponding with a high pixel imaging element while an imaging lens is miniaturized and has a larger aperture. The imaging lens includes, in order from an object side: a first lens having positive refractive power; a second lens in a meniscus shape including a concave surface facing an image side and having negative refractive power; a third lens having positive refractive power; a fourth lens in a meniscus shape including a concave surface facing the object side and having positive refractive power in the vicinity of an optical axis; and a fifth lens having negative refractive power in the vicinity of the optical axis and having positive refractive power in a peripheral section.
