[Also in Division G3] A gripping tool for extracting a watch glass 8 comprises a frame 1 in which are mounted pliers 3, a sleeve 2 of the frame engaging an annular bead 6 of the pliers on rotation of a control 4 to press an inwardly turned lip 7 of the pliers into an annular groove 10 of the watch glass. Further rotation of the control 4 causes a shoulder 12 of a sleeve 11 to abut a bezel of a watch case 9 and apply an axial force to the pliers 3 thereby extracting the glass. Three slots 3a define three jaws of the pliers and also give them radial resilience. A spring 16 opposes the upward axial movement of the pliers. Three further embodiments of the gripping tool are illustrated in Figs. 3-9 (not shown). |
