摘要 The checking method involves selectively forwarding a communication input (100) directly to an input interface or to a processor (104) in which internal statistics of all nominal/actual deviations (160) are initially updated and deciding based on a predefined reaction matrix (114) whether a respective communication input shall result in issuance of predefined active warning. If communication input does not satisfy predefined rule, the communication input is forwarded to a gate that determines whether communication input is blocked and not blocked depending on the predefined reaction matrix. The communication input (100) is forwarded directly to the input interface of the programmable logic controller (108), if the communication input satisfies at least one predefined rule of the nominal communication (112), and forwarded to the processor if the communication input does not satisfy at least one predefined rule. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a non-transitory computer program product having a computer program executing on a processor which, when used on a programmable logic controller, causes the processor to check a communication input of a programmable logic controller of an automation component of a plant; (2) a checking device; and (3) an automation network for controlling and checking a communication of an input interface.
