SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ILLUMINATING INTERFEROMETRIC MODULATOR DISPLAY

PURPOSE: A system and a method for illuminating an interferometric modulator device display are provided to secure excellent and efficient illumination. CONSTITUTION: If light(202) is mostly reflected to the outside of an interferometric modulator device(310), the observation angle of the light relatively becomes narrow because the light is vertical to the front side of a substrate(300). The light angle of the interferometric modulator device is controlled by changing the angle of a slope surface(204) of a groove(210). A reflection structure(210) is formed so that the light runs to the interferometric modulator minor instead of a gap(320). The lines of the reflection material instead of groves are formed in or on a front light plate(200) so that the light is transferred again to a device direction.
