PURPOSE: A medium detection device is provided to minimize space occupation and cost consumption by integrating a short distance sensor and a long distance sensor. CONSTITUTION: A medium deposit and withdrawal unit(10) consists of a short distance sensor(100) and a long distance sensor(200). The short distance sensor detects deposit or withdrawal of a medium by installing a light-emitting unit(110) and a light-receiving unit(120) in the roller of a path side which a medium enters into or exits from. The long distance sensor detects the degree of accommodation of the medium by installing a light-emitting unit(210) and a light-receiving unit(220) in both sides of the upper end of the medium deposit and withdrawal unit. |
