A method for driving an FSC LCD device is provided to enhance a charging time of a thin film transistor by driving sequentially divided LED(Light Emitting Diode) backlights. A method for driving an FSC LCD(Field Sequential Color Liquid Crystal Display) device includes a liquid crystal panel(110), a gate driver(120), plural data drivers(130), a backlight unit(200), and a backlight driver(220). The liquid crystal panel is defined by using n blocks. The gate driver, which is formed at one side of the liquid crystal panel, sequentially drives the respective n blocks. The data drivers are formed at the other side of the liquid crystal panel. The backlight unit, which includes plural LEDs, is formed at a lower portion of the liquid crystal panel and divided into m areas for every block. The backlight driver, which is installed in the backlight unit and formed in respective divided areas, applies a beam source control signal to the divided areas. |
