PURPOSE: A portable terminal, a server, and a control method thereof are provided to allow the portable terminal to receive a push message of a service server through a push server without directly connecting to the service server. CONSTITUTION: A control unit(330) of a push server(300) connects to one or more service servers by reading a corresponding profile from a memory(320) according to the connection of a portable terminal. The control unit transmits a periodical dummy packet to a gateway of a packet data network for maintaining the connection of the portable terminal. When a push message is received from one or more service servers connected to the portable terminal, the control unit transmits the push message to the portable terminal based on the control of a communication unit(310).
