摘要 An in-plane switching mode LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having an optical compensation film is provided to prevent a contrast ratio from deterioration by reducing light leakage in diagonal directions of an LCD panel in a dark state. An in-plane switching mode LCD(101) includes an LCD panel(135), a first polarizing plate(140), an optical compensation film(160), and a second polarizing plate(150). The LCD panel includes a first substrate(110), a second substrate(120), and a liquid crystal layer(130) interposed between the two substrates. The first polarizing plate is formed on one side of the LCD panel and includes a first polarizer(141) and a biaxial phase retardation layer(143). The optical compensation film is interposed between the LCD panel and the first polarizing plate. The second polarizing plate is formed on the other side of the LCD panel and includes a support(153) with no phase retardation and a second polarizer(151).
