PURPOSE: An electronic parking brake device and a control method thereof are provided to predict the braking force of a brake based on the position of a screw member and control the driving of a motor by corresponding to the braking force of the brake. CONSTITUTION: An electronic parking brake device comprises a housing(10), a parking cable, a screw member(51), a motor(30), a magnet member(60), and a hole sensor(70). The housing accommodates the components. The parking cable is connected to a brake and supplies the driving force. The screw member is connected to one side of the parking cable. The screw member pulls or releases the parking cable through a linear motion. The motor generates the driving force for the linear motion of the screw member. The magnet member is located on one side of the screw member connected to the parking cable. The hall sensor is fixed to the housing and senses the change of the magnetic field of the magnet member.
